We mapped 150 domestic PFAS-producing facilities using the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) datasets. The CDR rule, under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), requires U.S. facilities that are producing (manufacturing or importing) certain chemicals to report information to the EPA every four years. We determined the amount of PFAS each facility manufactured and imported for the years 2012, 2016, and 2020 by PFAS category. The manufacturing and importing volumes for all categories were averaged across years to get a total average annual production volume (lbs.) for each facility. |
